  1. Artist Profile: Jim & Lisa Mastro

  3. Husband-and-wife team Jim and Lisa Mastro met in 
  4. Antarctica, where they were inspired by the stark 
  5. grandeur of the place and the hardiness of the 
  6. people and animals that inhabit it. Lisa holds a 
  7. degree in marine biology but currently works in 
  8. multimedia design; she is fascinated by the 
  9. relationship between science and art. Jim also 
  10. worked as a marine biologist for many years; he is 
  11. a skilled photographer and writer. The Mastros' 
  12. work has appeared in OMNI, Discover, International 
  13. Wildlife, and Ocean Realm. They took first prize in 
  14. the Earth magazine photo contest.
